Guam - At 10:21 a.m. on October 21, 2010, Guam will join the nation in biggest earthquake drill in the United States history by hosting the Great Guam ShakeOut. All island residents are urged to exercise their exercise preparedness and drop, cover and hold!
The Great Guam Shakeout is a one minute drill to practice how to protect ourselves during an earthquake and how to take the necessary steps to ensure an earthquake disaster won’t become a catastrophe. All Government of Guam departments and agencies, emergency response organizations, military partners and several of the island’s public and private schools, businesses and individual families have already begun the process to ensuring they are ready for the next earthquake.

· Plan your drill – drop, cover and hold on 10/21 at 10:21
· Get prepared for earthquakes – create a hazard hunt, make a disaster plan or create an emergency supply kit
· Share the ShakeOut – encourage your family, friends and co-workers to join
This drill began as the Great Southern California ShakeOut in 2008. It was the largest earthquake drill in US history at the time with a total of 5.4 million participants spanning eight counties. Today, two years later, the drill has grown to include California, Oregon, Nevada, British Columbia, New Zealand and Guam.
