DOA: No Deal On Dental w/ Guardian; GovGuam Workers Must Switch To SelectCare
Guam - The Department of Administration today announced that the Government of Guam will not be offering a self-funded dental plan for GovGuam workers in FY 2010 because they were not able to finalize a service agreement with Guardian Dental Insurance.
A release from DOA says that now that Guardian Dental will not be offering a dental plan to GovGuam employees, the government has made arrangements with SelectCare Insurance to allow dental enrollment into their plan.
DOA, along with SelectCare, will be conducting a "Special Open Enrollment Period" for those who enrolled in Guardian's Dental plan. This open enrollment is scheduled for October 12 thru 16th at the Department of Administration - Human Resources Division and at SelectCare.
However, SelectCare will only allow GovGuam employees to enroll into their dental plan if they currently have medical insurance with SelectCare. For those who do not have medical insurance with SelectCare and wish to enroll in dental, they must enroll into the medical plan in order to obtain dental coverage.
