GCA Trades Academy to train more local industry instructors

Guam - The GCA Trades Academy has announced more training opporunities for local industry instructors.

What:   GCA Trades Academy to train 9 more instructors.  Currently GCA TA has trained 70 instructors on Guam and another 50 throughout the region.

Why:    GCA TA program expansion creates need for more instructors


About the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program


This 24-hour course is one of the foundations of the National Center for Construction Education & Research's Contren Learning Series standardized training process.  This is the very process and standard adopted by the GCA Trades Academy. The course provides standardized training for instructors and improves the quality of instruction, provides future instructors insight into proven training methods, relates training directly to teaching NCCER Contren Learning Series, coordinates the trainer's role in the accreditation process, teaches trainers how to monitor trainee's progress and reports information to NCCER, standardizes the delivery of materials and information, assists instructor in understanding how to use the modules to ensure trainees receive quality training in their areas, and furnishes instructors the flexibility to meet the needs of Accredited Training Sponsors.

Bert Johnston, education director of the GCA Trades Academy, will be conducting the training.
