San Nicolas: OPA Audit on Gross Receipt Collections "Calls Into Question Fairness of Tax Collection Process"

Guam - Senator Michael San Nicolas says the OPA's audit of  Rev & Tax's GRT collections calls into question the fairness of the entire tax collection process.

San Nicolas Chairs the Committee which oversees Rev and Tax.

Reacting to the OPA's audit, the Senator says in a release that "DRT is responsible for making sure that everyone is paying their fair share and when that isn’t being done, it calls into question the fairness of the entire tax collection process."

San Nicolas says he will follow up on the audit in an oversight hearing he has called for May 28th saying that his office "will continue to hold DRT accountable until the data shows real improvement. "

“Our recent oversight hearings of the Department of Revenue and Taxation have shed light on issues with collections and waivers of penalties.  The OPA’s audit further highlights the magnitude of the situation."
