Pacific Summer Invitational Basketball Brings Teams From Philippines

Hagåtña, Guam- The Pacific Summer Invitational Basketball games will begin on May 8-11, 2013, this inaugural event is hosted by the Office of Senator Thomas Morrison.

This international event will bring out 6 visiting teams from Manila; Don Bosco High School (Pampanga); Team Manila Selection; Ateneo de Manila High School "Blue Eaglets"; Diliman Preparatory School and the Xavier School "Stallions" will be competing in the High School 17U division and the Middle School 14U & 12U division.

The local High school teams are comprised of John F. Kennedy "Islanders"; St. John's "Knights" and the Okkodo High School "Bulldogs".  The High School games will be played at the JFKHS gym and are co-hosted by the JFK Athletic Dept.

The local Middle school teams are comprised of St. Paul "Warriors"; St. Anthony "Raiders"; Untalan Middle School "Wildcats"; and FB Leon Guerrero "Hawks".  The Middle School games will be played at the St. Paul Christian School gym.

Senator Morrison stated, " The goal and concept of this Basketball Championship event was designed to enhance relationships through friendly competition among the youth. Sports also allows the exchange of cultural experiences, further highlighting the importance of developing opportunities for wholesome social interactions."
