(Tumon, GUAM) – Hosts of the inaugural Guam International Marathon presented donations to event beneficiaries this morning. The Islandwide Beautification Task Force and Guam Tourism Education Council each received donations of $15,000. These donations were funded from proceeds generated from the marathon event that was held on April 7th.
“Of the nearly 2,200 runners that participated in the event, 1,000 came from overseas. The event was a huge success for the island and we are humbled by the opportunity to make two separate donations of $15,000 each to the Islandwide Beautification Task Force and the Guam Tourism Education Council. These organizations are instrumental to the on-going and future success of Guam’s tourism industry. These two organizations embody the community support that is so vital to ensuring that our off island visitors experience everything that makes Guam such a special place,” says Race Director Ben Ferguson.
