As a result, the school will run on a double session starting MONDAY, AUgust 20th. The double session will last through the first quarter to accommodate for the construction.

"The first session is going to be from 7am to 12:10,” GWHS Assistant Principal Gaylene Cruz told PNC today. “That will be our 10, 11 12th graders and then we have a transition period that is from 12:10 to 12-30.”

According to Cruz freshmen will start class at 12:25pm and will be released at 5:30pm. Freshmen students will be dropped off in the front of the school; sophomore, junior and seniors will be picked up in the back of the school.

“We're gonna have a lot of traffic during the transition period,” Cruz said.

To avoid traffic delays Cruz recommends that students ride the bus. The Department of Education will be leasing between 12 and 15 buses to make the double session possible. DOE has identified $150,000 in federal funding originally awarded as ARRA Funds for the STEM Project.

Parents and students with questions about the schedule can call the school at 734-2911 or stop by the office on Friday. Classes resume on Monday.
