Ylig Bridge to Be Closed 30-Minutes Every Morning From TODAY thru August 24

Guam - The Department of Public Works issued an alert to the public that its contractor, Smithbridge Inc., will transport and install eleven  99-foot long pre-cast concrete box girders, each weighing approximately five tons, onto the Ylig Bridge.


Operations will begin at 1:30 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes every morning beginning TODAY Saturday, August 11 through Friday, August 24.

For the safety of construction crew and the motoring public, the Ylig Bridge will be closed during the duration of the time period. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes or avoid the area completely.  However, in the event of an emergency, a 10-foot wide lane will be maintained to allow emergency access vehicles. Road closure signs will be posted at designated areas with hours of closure.  Emergency responders have been advised.
