VIDEO: 2% Power Rate Decrease Goes Into Effect TODAY

Guam - You'll pay less for your power consumption beginning TODAY, Wednesday, August 1st.

The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on Monday approved the Guam Power Authority's (GPA) request to lower the fuel surcharge under the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause (LEAC).

GPA Spokesman Art Perez says the LEAC adjustment will lower each consumer's power bill by 2%, which is a savings of $5 for the average power bill. The savings take effect August 1st and Perez says it will be visible on the next power bills that go out.
