The event takes place at the Guam Marriott in the Chamorro Ballroom, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
According to Doyon Ahn Morato, one of the event organizers, Mr. Chang Dal Park, President of the Korea Freedom Federation, will be flying in from Korea to attend Guam’s opening ceremony and to appoint new Guam Chapter President, Mr. Philip Ahn, a longtime resident of Guam, a respected businessman who owns Tudor Construction Co., Inc., which was established in 1984. He moved to Guam from Korea in the 1970s with his family. Morato also mentioned that Acting Governor Ray Tenorio and Speaker Judy Won Pat will be in attendance at the event.
“We are excited about this event because it is yet another milestone for this great organization whose main purpose is to promote freedom on a global scale and they chose to include our island in this movement. We are also extremely grateful that Acting Governor Tenorio and Speaker Won Pat will be joining us at such an important event, not only for our local Korean community but for Guam. The Korean community believes that it is also in Guam’s best interests and security that the Korean peninsula remains stable and preserves and perhaps one day adopts as a whole, the ideals of a free, democratic society,” Morato said passionately.
Speaker Judy Won Pat will introduce a Resolution recognizing the Korea Freedom Federation Guam Chapter to President Park, Guam Chapter President Ahn and its members at the opening ceremony. Local prominent Koreans from the community and Guam’s business sector will also be in attendance, including the Consul General of Korea.
