Guam - While Liberation Day is over there is still about two weeks left for the liberation carnival as the last day will be August 5th.
Sinajana Vice-Mayor Robert Hoffman says that the initial reports are showing the vendors are doing really well and he's hoping that the next two weeks will provide them with a last minute rush.
This years carnival will have been open for ten weeks instead of the usual six week run. It's location in Tiyan has been a success and in fact the mayors want to hold the carnival in Tiyan for at least the next four years. They're even considering adopting the area and making a significant investment into the infrastructure by putting in water and lighting.

"I think that once that kind of pans out it'll be the place to be we want to welcome and host the Japan fair there we want to host the Micronesian fair there and whatever else summer concert series that people do have because it's a great facility it's a great place there's ample parking it's pretty safe we've seen so far it's a very controlled area so it's one of the jewels that's going to be up and coming,” said Hoffman.
On August fifth they will give away ten thousand dollars in a raffle. Until then they will remain open daily from 6p.m. until midnight.
