Guam News - Guam News

Guam - Guam Fire Rescue, HSC-25 and Coast Guard watchstanders partnered to rescue a hiker who sustained a head injury on the Upper Sigua Falls trail SATURDAY afternoon.

The hiker is reported to be in stable condition.

Land crews from Guam Fire Rescue hiked in from the Channel 10 tower and Leo’s Palace to locate the injure hiker while the Coast Guard coordinated with HSC-25 in the air.

HSC-25 successfully located the hikers and lowered down a rescue swimmer and corpsman to provide immediate medical attention.

After hoisting down the medical team, HSC-25 experienced a mechanical issue and had to return to base but left their crew behind to provide care while awaiting rescue teams.

Guam Fire Rescue arrived on the scene using all terrain vehicles and will transport the hiker out of the trail. Responders estimate it will take at least 1 hour to make it back to the trail head from the scene.
