VIDEO: Liberation Naturalization at District Court

Guam News - Guam News

Guam - While GovGuam offices were closed Friday for the Liberation holiday, Federal offices were open and the District Court of Guam marked the 68th Liberation Day celebrations with a naturalization ceremony.

District Court Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan and Presiding Judge Francis Tydingco-Gatewood presided as more than 50 people were sworn in as U.S.  citizens.

They hailed from Japan, Australia, India, the Federated States of Micronesia and as far away as Italy.

Assistant Secretary of the Interior Tony Babauta, a native son of Guam,  spoke about the important contributions immigrates have made throughout U.S. history.
