VIDEO: 100 Groups to Participate In Liberation Parade

Guam News - Guam News

Guam - Participation for the Liberation Parade is slightly up this year, with a hundred groups and organizations registered to be a part of Saturday's parade.

Parade Committee Chairperson Mayor Jessy Gogue says the bulk of entries are from non-profit organizations, GovGuam agencies, villages and the military.

The parade will begin with the usual B-52 fly-over along with something new.

“We actually have a parachute demonstrator that will come in on at the grand stand area at the start of the parade,” Gogue told PNC.

The parade begins at Adelup on Saturday at 10am and will continue to the Chief Quipua Loop in Agana.  Northbound traffic on Route One will be re-routed through Agana Heights during the parade.  The southbound lanes of Marine Corps Drive will be closed from Adelup to Asan Beach beginning at 3am Saturday to allow parade entrants to line up.
