The Chief said he is concerned about the 19 robberies that have occurred since the start of the summer, including both armed robberies and strong armed thefts from island residents and tourists. He blames the drug trade.

However, the chief said arrests have been made in 8 of the 19 cases and he anticipates that more will be solved in the near future. But he called on the public to contact police if they have any information that can help curb crime.
The Chief also said that Operation Dragon is continuing which is focusing on the Tumon and Tamuning areas in a concentrated effort to deter crime. And he said the Department has also launched Operation NightWatch, the purpose of which is to back up the Patrol Division at night.
