Volunteers are needed to help collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles during and after the parade. Interested individuals can sign in at the Recycling Tent near the GCIC building in Hagatna any time between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21.
Families attending the parade are asked to bring their own bins for aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Volunteers will pick up recyclables throughout the day. Families can bring their cans and bottles to the GCIC building for a chance to win a free spot along the 2013 parade.
There will also be a Sunday afternoon cleanup along Marine Corps Drive sponsored by the Environmental Education Committee in partnership with the Hagatna Mayor. Volunteers are to meet at the GCIC building at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22. Bags and gloves will be provided.
