VIDEO: Southern High Principal Says Auditorium Will Boost Morale

Guam - More than one class has come and gone from Southern High School without using the school's gym or auditorium.

After years of delays a contract to renovate the Performing Arts Center has finally been awarded.  Governor Eddie Calvo signed the $3.6 Million contract awarded to BME & Son during a ceremony at Adelup on Thursday. Now that the contract has been signed the project is expected to be completed in 240 days.

“Its wonderful news for the students at Southern High School, also for the teachers, the faculty and the staff but also for the community, “ Southern High Principal James Petitte told PNC on Friday.

The project is being paid for through trust funds that were originally awarded as a grant from the American Recovery And Reinvestment Act.

Its been seven years since a function was held in the auditorium.
