This Cooperative Agreements for Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) grant is part of a joint Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) cooperative agreement program, which provides resources and technical assistance to aid states, territories, and local agencies in developing emergency preparedness capabilities, including: community preparedness, community recovery, emergency operations coordination, emergency public information and warning, fatality management, information sharing, mass care, medical countermeasure dispensing, medical material management and distribution, medical surge, non-pharmaceutical interventions, public health laboratory testing, public health surveillance and epidemiological investigation, responder safety and health, and volunteer management.
“The grant received today will enhance Guam’s ability to respond to public health emergencies in our community,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “These funds build on previous grants awarded to Guam to help improve our island’s preparedness, response and recovery capabilities.
