Guam - The Vietnam War Memorial in Mangilao was vandalized this past weekend.
2 plastic m-16 replica's were broken out of the hands of 2 of the soldier figures and 3 lighting fixtures which illuminated the statue at night were also stolen.
The Commander of the Guam Chapter of the Order of the Purple Heart, Tom Devlin, called it an act of disrespect to the Guam soldiers who died in that conflict.
Te President of the Guam Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Dan Mendiola, said the vandalism was discovered last Saturday morning and he appealed to who ever did it, to return the items to the statue, and no questions will be asked.
