Guam- Eleisha Ann Banes Malaga is the new 2012 Liberation Queen.
The 19 year old raised over $23 thousand dollars to wear the crown and represents the village of Agat. In fact, this is the second time in a row that an Agat resident won the title. She mentions the money raised goes to the Mayors Council and benefits the entire island. She adds a percentage also goes back to help the Agat Mayor's Office.
Malaga says she is looking forward to her busy schedule in representing the island.
“I just really want to represent Guam the best that I can” said Malaga. “You know, we're going off island in July to San Diego for their liberation crowning. I just want to represent Guam the best way I can and get the full experience”
The Liberation Queen's coronation will be tomorrow [Saturday] at the carnival grounds in Tiyan around 6 p.m.. Everyone is invited to attend.
