TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR JUNE 25 - JULY 1
Route 1/ 8 (Hagåtña Bridges)
The outer southbound lane on Marine Corps Drive in the Hagåtña Bridge area will continue to be closed during the evenings through Tuesday morning, June 26. From 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. tonight, Friday, June 22 through Tuesday, June 26, one lane on the southbound direction will be closed to accommodate the installation of sheet piles by the contractor. Only one southbound lane will remain open while this night work is accomplished. Motorists are advised to proceed through the area with caution and to obey all traffic signs and flaggers.
Southbound lanes on Marine Drive between Route 8 and Route 4 have been shifted to the east side of the center median area adjacent to the north bound lanes.
Route 16 GMF (Barrigada Post Office)
On Tuesday, June 26, the north and southbound lanes on Route 16 near the Guam Main Facility will be closed intermittently for pavement marking work. This work is contingent on good weather and will be rescheduled if necessary.
North Guam Signalization (Yigo)
Pavement marking operations will be in progress on Wusstig Road at the intersection of Route 1 during the week. Minor asphalt paving operations will also be in progress at the intersection of Chalan Lujuna Road and Route 1 throughout the week. Temporary lane shifts and closures can be expected and motorists are asked to proceed with caution and observe all traffic control signs posted along the construction area.
Route 1/11 (Port Authority Road, Piti)
Lane shifts for motorists traveling southbound on Marine Corps Drive at the Port Authority Road Intersection area are in currently in effect. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to obey all traffic signs in the area.
Route 4 Togcha and Talofofo Bridges (Talofofo and Inarajan)
Drivers traveling on Route 4 at Talofofo Bridge are advised that traffic continues to be restricted to one lane. Temporary traffic lights are in place with timing monitored and adjusted to minimize delays. Increased travel time and short delays should be anticipated while driving through this construction zone.
The Togcha Bridge is open to two-lane traffic, however, motorists are advised that construction activities will continue on and around the bridge for several more weeks as the remaining work items are completed. Please be alert for construction activities in this area.
Route 4 Ylig Bridge (Yona)
The construction of piers on the Route 4 Ylig Bridge continues this week. Due to the proximity of the construction work to travel lanes, intermittent traffic delays and lane closures will be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. The temporary bridge and detour remains open to traffic with a posted 15 MPH speed limit.
Route 7A (Hagåtña)
Route 7A is open to two-way traffic however this area remains an active construction zone. Motorists are asked to proceed with caution and obey all traffic control signs along the site.
Route 17 (Talofofo)
Road construction work on Route 17 will continue this week. Drivers can expect short delays and increased travel time while heavy equipment operates in the area. Signage and safety personnel will be in place to ensure the safety of travelers.
Route 25 (Dededo)
Minor construction work will continue on Route 25. Motorists may experience shifts to narrow travel lanes and short traffic restrictions as the contractor completes work in the area. Drivers are advised to observe all traffic signage and be aware of safety personnel and construction workers on the road.
