Colorado Fugitive Indicted for Failing to Register as Sex Offender; Pleads Not Guilty

Guam - Colorado Fugitive Michael David Montgomery was indicted in the District Court of Guam for failing to register as a sex offender. He appeared briefly in court Monday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Montgomery is wanted in the State of Colorado on two warrants. He was convicted in August 2008 of "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" and "sexual contact - no consent."

According to a release fromt the Guam U.S. Marshals Office, Montgomery left the state in August 2010 and found his way to Guam on December 2011. He was picked up by federal authorities on June 9 at a hotel in Barrigada.

Montgomery is scheduled for a jury trial on August 22 at 9:30 am inside Judge Joaquin Manibusan's courtroom.
