Guam - China's manned deep-sea submersible the "Jiaolong" made a second dive into the Mariana Trench Tuesday morning and set another Chinese dive record descending 6,965 meters or 22,851 feet.

According to a report in the Shanghai Daily, Tuesday's second dive was originally slated to happened Monday, but had to be postponed to allow time to repair a leaking oil pipe on the vessel's hydraulic system.

During its first dive last Friday, the "Jialong" went down to 6,671 meters or 21,886

4 more dives are still planned with the aim of  going down 7,000 meters, or deeper.
