Guam - Hilton Guam Resort & Spa received three awards at the annual Guam Visitors Bureau’s and Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association “Golden Latte Awards”.

The management team of Hilton Guam Resort & Spa accepted these awards 3 weeks ago at the 2012 Golden Latte Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 25.

The Golden Latte Awards recognizes outstanding hospitality employees and companies on island.

The first of its achievements in this year’s Golden Latte Awards was credited to Joel Aranas, Sous Chef at the Hilton’s Fisherman’s Cove, who won the HERO Supervisory award for his dedication and commitment as a Hilton team member and his volunteerism in the local community. An award winning restaurant, Fisherman’s Cove, received last year’s Excellence in Tourism Award for Best Local Tourism Facility.

In addition to the individual employee win, Hilton Guam received the award for Most Outstanding Local Tourism Project/Event for the hotel’s Japan Aid Benefit Concert. The benefit concert united Guam’s locals and tourists, encouraging them to come together and assist in Japan’s relief efforts. Two members of Japan’s popular girls group, AKB48, joined in the lineup and signed autographs.

Hilton Guam was also awarded one of the most prestigious titles, the Golden Latte – Hotelier. The award recognized Hilton Guam Resort & Spa for its community involvement and support and commitment to tourism.  Hilton Guam has partnered with the Guam Visitors Bureau and the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association in various media FAM tours, trade shows and international events both on island and off island.
