Captain John Ward to Assume Command of Naval Base Guam THURSDAY

Guam - Captain John M. Ward will assume command as Commanding Officer, Naval Base Guam,  relieving Captain Richard K. Wood II, during a change of command ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled for this THURSDAY, June 21 at 10 am, at the Naval Base Guam Big Screen Theater. Rear Adm. Paul J. Bushong, Commander, Joint Region Marianas, will be the guest speaker.

Ward is reporting to Guam from the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Washington, D.C., where he served as Military Special Assistant for Electronic Warfare Systems, Director, Operational Test & Evaluation (DOT&E).  

Wood will be departing Guam after two years to assume the position of Professor of Naval Science and Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
