The Mangilao facility will provide 5,800 square feet of space for staff offices, a boat house, warehouse and parking lot. Nearly $1 million dollars worth of funding was awarded for the project by a Sport Fish Restoration grant under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Federal Assistance Program. The actual project cost is $934,958.
According to Division of Aquatic and Wildlife acting Chief Tino Aguon, the process for this project started in 2005. He credits their harding working staff for keeping the agency in compliance with federal regulations to get the funding needed for the facility and their resources.
