Guam - The University of Guam has announced the schdule for the June 2012 Guam SBDC workshops.
Tuesday, June 12th (9:00am-11:30am): "Customer Service for Food and Beverage"
Presented by Guest speaker: Toshie Ito, Motiva Training & Consultant
Fee: $30 per person ; Location: UOG Guam SBDC Room #148 Leon Guerrero SBPA Building
SYNOPSIS: Customer’s sensitivity increases when they are hungry, tired or impatient and they tend to easily react to small details such as employee’s facial expression, body language, tone of voice, waiting time, delay, etc. It is essential for frontline employees to immediately engage with customers and influence customer’s frame of mind so that the customer experience will be most pleasant and memorable. Employees must learn how to serve with utmost sensitivity and maximum attention. Customer loyalty is created by two elements – great food/beverage and attentive people who serve with wonderful smile.

SYNOPSIS: In this workshop you will learn E-Commerce website – let technology be your friend, packaging to convey your brand image and comply with other requirements, marketing to the eyes of the customer, how to look to an internet savvy world.

Friday, June 15th (8:30am-11:00am): "QuickBooks: Entering and Paying Bills"

Presented by Guam SBDC
Fee: $50 per person; Location: UOG Guam SBDC Room #148
SYNOPSIS: In this training you will learn the different ways you can handle bills in QuickBooks, how to enter a bill in QuickBooks, use the Pay Bills window to pay a bill in QuickBooks and how to enter a discount on a bill from a vendor. Vendor reports will also be reviewed to see impact of transactions.

Thursday, June 21th (8:30am-11:00am): "Leadership vs. Management”
Presented by Guest speaker: Pacific Human Resources Services, Inc.

SYNOPSIS: We would all like to think that as managers, we are also leaders. But there is a difference. When should you assume the role of a leader, of a manager? Is the good manager an autocrat?

Presented by Guam SBDC and UOG Center for Island Sustainability

SYNOPSIS: Now going green isn’t just good for the environment. It’s good for your company’s bottom line, too. Learn from the experts on how alternate energy, HEDCO LDC - SBA 504 Loan Program, and government energy credit programs can assist your business to go green and save money with a photovoltaic (PV) system.
