CNMI: Rowena Urumelog Gets 8 Months for Immigration Document Fraud

Saipan - Rowena Urumelog  has been sentenced to 8 months on a charge of immigration document fraud.

Urumelog was sentenced last Thursday in the CNMI District Court by Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona. Her sentencing comes 7-months after she was convicted during a 2-day jury trial last December.

Urumelog will be allowed to spend four of those 8 months months in home confinement. Following her term, she will be under 3 years supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Alicia Limtiaco made the announcement.  Assistant United States Attorney Beverly McCallum tried the case for the Government,and Assistant United States Attorney Garth Backe prosecuted the case.

The investigation was conducted by Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations.
