The Chiefs came into the game hitting a robust .333 as a team so a lot of offense was expected.
The Cardinals Pecina off the game striking out the side in the top of the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 1st the Cardinals would get on the board first taking advantage of Chief error to push two runs across. Dave Pecah would single and score on and error then Cisco Aguigui would reach on an error and come around to score on a rbi single by Justin Candoleta and give the Cardinals an early 2-0 lead.
That lead would dissapear in the top of the 2nd inning as the Chiefs would stay on offense for almost 20 minutes sending 14 batters to the plate. Fueld by 5 walks and two errors by the Cardinals the Chiefs would also swing the bats with 5 hits in the inning producing 9 runs. The Chiefs Pete Grey would go 2-2 with a run and 3 rbi in the inning. Taking a 9-2 lead Chiefs starter Gerry Paulino settled down on the mound and the Chiefs defense made all the right plays to keep the Cardinals off the scoreboard. The Chiefs would add two insurance runs in the 3rd innings off a rbi double by Scott San Nicolas. The game would be called due to time limit after 4 innings with the Chiefs coasting to a 13-2 win.
Dave Pecha was 2-3 with a run as the Cardinals fall to 5-3 on the season. Pete Grey finished up 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 rbi and Gerry Paulino earns the win as the Chiefs improving to 6-1.
