Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio to Proclaim May as Relay For Life Month

Guam -  Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio will proclaim May "Relay For Life Month" today at 5:30 pm during the Relay For Life team captain’s meeting at the Pacific Islands Club Isa Ballroom.

"Relay For Life Month" raises funds to benefit the American Cancer Society. It brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groups - people from all walks of life - all aimed at celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost, and fighting back against the disease.

This year’s Relay For Life of Guam will be held at George Washington Track Field from 7 pm Friday, May 25 to 7 am Saturday, May 26.

Governor of Guam Ray Tenorio will proclaim May as Relay For Life Month in celebration of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event today at 5:30PM during the Relay For Life team captain’s meeting at the Pacific Islands Club Isa ballroom.  “Guam’s Relay For Life event draws thousands of island residents together and truly reflects the heart of our people and their willingness to contribute towards a great cause.  With May now being Relay For Life Month, we feel honored that Governor Calvo and Lt. Governor Tenorio have recognized the efforts of our community members and our passion for the fight against cancer,” said Joe Rios, Relay For Life 2012 event chair.
