Guam - The Guam Power Authority sat down with its stakeholders this week to begin the dialogue over the island's future energy needs.

The meeting took place Wednesday at the UOG School of Business.

The Manager of GPA's Strategic Planning Division, John Cruz Jr., said the goal is to gather community input to determine the alternative energy options that are best suited for Guam.

Cruz also said that GPA is very close to signing a power purchase agreement with Quantum Energy for a 20-megawatt solar energy plant which would be the largest such solar plant in Micronesia.
