“In addition to the 28 students participating in the competition, we have two chemistry teachers from Simon Sanchez and Academy who will observe in order to prepare to compete next year as well as a few other students observing. I am excited to announce that students will also be competing in our newly renovated chemistry laboratory in the Science Building,” said competition organizer Dr. Maika Vuki. The competition runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm in the Science Building and begins in room 121.
The competition was organized several years ago to introduce the field of chemistry to the island’s high school students and to ultimately encourage them to pursue degrees in chemistry at UOG.
