EAT AT CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN IN APRIL!
Bring your friends and family to California Pizza Kitchen during the month of April and 20% of your bill (alcohol not included) will be donated to the UOG Foundation. You must download the flyer from the front page of the UOG website and show it to your server!
SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE – April 18 and 19
The Island Sustainability Conference will be held April 18 and 19 at the Hyatt Regency. The two day conference is $50 and features exciting keynote speakers and presenters. A Career & Major Fair - April 19
Tell your students - EMSS hosts a Career & Major Fair on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 9:00am-3:00pm at the SBPA Atrium for UOG undergraduate and undeclared students. For more information contact Arline Leon Guerrero, Student Counseling Services, at 735-3342.
Violence Against Women Prevention Program Hosts Clothesline Project – April 18
The University of Guam Violence Against Women Prevention Program hosts a Clothesline Campaign April 18th outside at the Student Center Building and April 26th outside the Humanities and Social Sciences Bldg. The campus events are part of a national campaign that allows people to write messages about sexual assault – whether positive prevention messages or feelings— on the shirts that are hung on a clothesline so that passersby can read the t-shirt messages throughout the day. In this way, awareness of sexual assault is raised among college-aged youth. Some shirts will be available for UOG students to decorate and the shirts will be displayed throughout the afternoon. Math & English Placement Test - April 21
Students planning on enrolling for the Summer Sessions must take the Math and English Placement Tests on April 21 at 8:00 a.m. in the CLASS Lecture Hall. Plan to arrive 20 minutes before start time for check-in; bring photo ID & admissions application payment receipt to the test.
Preparing to be a Profitable Exporter -April 19th (8:30am-11:00am)

This workshop will cover who should consider exporting from Guam, clarifying service as an export, identifying that foreign countries need your knowledge, doing a financial plan for short term financing, provide guides on how to connect with the right buyers and understand their needs, and provide the “exporter’s map” leading to the hidden treasure chest of exporter cash flow.
Quickbooks: Entering Sales, Receiving Payment and Making Deposits - April 20th (8:30am-11:00am)

In this training you will learn about the different formats available for sales forms, see how QuickBooks records the information you enter on sales forms, the purpose and use of the QuickBooks Item list and see how a new price level is added to the Price Level list and more.

Violence Against Women Prevention Program Movie Night April 26
VAWPP is hosting a student movie night April 26th at 5:30pm in the CLASS Lecture Hall. The featured movie is called Spin the Bottle: Sex, Lies and Alcohol. It is a documentary about the college culture's influence on excessive drinking, which leads to alcohol dependence and often alcohol-facilitated sexual assault. It will be followed by a discussion about sexual assault in college environments and how students can prevent this from happening around them.

Eye of Science Seeks photos
CNAS is looking for photographs from faculty and students to include in a scientific photography show. Macro or micro photos of nature, research subjects or research results, or something that appeals to your scientific eye can be submitted. Send your favorite original high resolution digital photographs to olympia.uog@gmail.com.This show will be one of the culminating events for the month of June, the month assigned to CNAS for the 60th anniversary celebrations. MS in Clinical Psychology: Applications Due April 20
The Psychology Program at the University of Guam is accepting applications for the third cohort of the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (MSCP) Program, which will begin in Fall Semester 2012. This is a two-year, full-time program leading to the awarding of a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology and to licensure as an Individual, Marriage, and Family Therapist. The MSCP Program provides graduate level training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, child and adolescent therapy, family systems therapy, and existential therapy, as well as ethical, legal and professional issues, psychopathology and psychodiagnosis, clinical assessment, and clinical research. Mental health professionals with graduate degrees who wish to refresh their skills are invited to register for individual classes. Visit www.uog.edu for more information. “60 for 60” – Final List Unveiled April 30
Final titles books that represent, promote, and showcase Guam and Micronesia will be announced April 30, 2012. Part of the Library’s 60th anniversary celebration.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Philip Malilay White Memorial Research Scholarship
Applications are due on Friday, April 23, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.
The scholarship will be available to full-time undergraduates in their final two years of study and all full-time graduate students. One $1500 scholarship will be granted to a graduate student, and another $1500 scholarship will be granted to an undergraduate. Required Research: Recipients must make a commitment to participate in a research project concerning suicide and its prevention in Guam and/or Micronesia. Students wishing to apply for the scholarship must fill out the online application available at: http://philipsfoundation.org.

AMA All The Way – May 4
The American Marketing Association – UOG Collegiate Chapter, School of Business & Public Administration will be hosting its 2012 Annual Marketing Conference on May 4th, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Guam. The conference will be an all-day event, starting at 8:30 a.m. and finishing at 4:30 p.m. UOG-SBPA students are invited to attend free of charge, the fee for all others is $35.00 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.
