SBA to Present 2012 Small Business Awards TODAY

Guam - The SBA Guam Chapter will present the 2012 Small Business Awards TODAY, April 4th,  to honor seven Guam small business owners and the champions of small business interests.


The  event takes place at 2 this afternoon at the Latte of Freedom, Multi-Purpose Cultural Center at Adelup.

U.S. Small Business Administration Guam Branch Manager Kenneth Lujan, along with Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo and members of the 31st Guam Legislature, will present awards and certificates to the following individuals:

Richard K. Lai – Small Business Person of the Year

Joseph Roberto – Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year

Elvin Yu-Ling Duncan Chiang – Financial Services Champion of the Year

Ruth Gurusamy – Women In Business Champion of the Year

Mark M.Y. Zhao – Minority Small Business Champion of the Year

Benjamin C. Pablo – Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year

Peter R. Sgro, Jr. - Entrepreneurial Success Award

Each year, the U.S. Small Business Administration honors the outstanding small business owners for their personal achievements and contributions to our nation’s economy.  On Guam, as well as the 50 states and Puerto Rico, award ceremonies are held to recognize those entrepreneurs and champions for their hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to their communities which have made them the exceptional examples of small business in action.
