Guam Governor Calvo: Kim Jong Il's Death Should Serve as "Wake Up Call" for Senator McCain

Guam News - Guam News

Guam - Guam Governor Eddie Calvo today [Monday] issued a statement on the death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il in which he said that its should serve as "a wake up call" to Senator McCain and others who have put the breaks on the Guam military buildup.
The Governor's statement read in FULL:

"This should be a wake-up call to anyone in the federal establishment, like Sen. McCain, who’ve put impediments in front of the military buildup on Guam."

"If Sen. McCain says we shouldn’t fund the military buildup because there’s a chance the buildup won’t happen, then I challenge him to have that discussion with the Secretaries of Defense and State and the Japanese Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs. I think he’ll get some eye-opening briefings about the need for this force realignment."

"If he did it today, he’ll notice that the security threat became even more uncertain in the wake of the North Korean leader’s death and the growing instability of an already-rogue state at America’s back door."
