Guam- The Department of Education has posted the opening of the Superintendent Position for the second time since former Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Underwood announced she would be retiring.

Interim Superintendent Taling Taitano has been leading the department since Underwood retired in July.  The Guam Education Board has already advertised for the position once.  GEB Members interviewed Vince Leon Guerrero and Salvadore Avilla for the position in August but neither candidate got the majority of the Board's votes during a Board meeting in September.  At that meeting Board Members decided to open the position again after a policy on selecting superintendents was approved by the Board.

The position was posted on the Guam Department of Education website November 7th.  The closing date for applications is January 31, 2012.
