Supreme Court Sides With Gill Baza Residents Over Foreclosure Issue

Guam- The Supreme Court of Guam has issued an amended opinion on the Gill Baza court case.

In a release, the court clarifies itself, leaving its decision mostly unchanged. It also has once again determined that the Sananaps, who are residents of the Gill Baza Subdivision, should have been granted an injunction against Cyfred's attempts to foreclose on their property. The case has been remanded to the superior court.

Gill Baza residents sued the company Cyfred over failure to install sewer lines in the subdivision. The residents won a $580,000 judgment a few years back in court. However, the company has yet to pay up. Earlier this month, 85 lots of the subdivision were seized by the court. In the meantime, residents continue to use portable toilets as they wait for a sewer line to be installed.
