Guam - Guam Community College announces new online courses, including an online High School Diploma With General Career Preparation course. This new online program offers enhanced and updated content to provide students with state-of-the-art skills and information.

GCC also makes it easy to take high-quality, noncredit online courses. The College has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated courses. Several new course offerings include Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, Introduction to Peachtree Accounting 2012, Web Applications Developer, Introduction to Crystal Reports, Introduction to Intermediate Adobe Flash CS5 and Intermediate Adobe Flash CS4, and Introduction to Guitar.

High School Diploma With General Career Preparation

In this certificate program, students will prepare for a career as they earn 18 high school credits and complete their high school diplomas. The program is entirely online, so students can work at their own pace. Participants will learn the computer skills needed in today's job market, from setting up a PC to using office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The program also covers fundamental on-the-job skills including communication, professional conduct, time management, and conflict resolution. Throughout the program, an academic coach and a team of certified teachers will be available to offer guidance and support. When students complete the program, they will graduate with a high school diploma and a career-credentialed certificate. In addition, they will prepare for the job market by creating a career portfolio including a resume, cover letters, and more.

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

Introduction to Peachtree Accounting 2012
Participants will learn to handle accounting tasks quickly and easily with Peachtree Accounting 2012. Web Applications Developer
Students will learn to develop and maintain database-driven websites. They will master basic HTML (the core technology behind almost all websites), learn CSS for designing pages, and discover how to make their pages more dynamic with JavaScript. In addition, they will learn the fundamentals of PHP, SQL, XML, and Ajax. They will also explore HTML5, the newest version of HTML, putting them on the cutting edge of web development.

Introduction to Crystal Reports
Participants in this course will discover how to transform information in databases or accounting programs into clear, easy-to-understand business reports. Intermediate Adobe Flash CS5 and Intermediate Adobe Flash CS4

Participants in these courses will master the use of Flash techniques including Movie Clip symbols, ActionScript, application programming, and interactivity techniques. Introduction to Guitar
In this fun and informative course, participants will learn to play the guitar step-by-step with the help of hands-on exercises, audio and video recordings and detailed illustrations. By the end of the course, they'll be able to read music, play notes and chords, and add expression and artistry to their music. The classical guitar skills they'll master will enable them to play any style of music, from hard rock to country-and-western.

These courses are part of Guam Community College's growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. And they can access the classroom 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.

New sessions of each course run every month and last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly (for a total of 12). The courses are entirely web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments.
