Homeland Security Monitoring 26 W
Guam - Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense in conjunction with the National Weather Service (NWS) are closely monitoring Tropical Depression (TD) 26W as it is forecasted to intensify as it slowly approaches the region.
As of 1:00 p.m. (ChST) TD 26W was located approximately 450 miles Southeast of Guam. TD 26W is moving Northwest at 6 MPH and is expected to continue to intensify into a Tropical Storm within the next 12-24 hours. Maximum sustained winds are 35 MPH.
Currently, there are no watches or warnings in effect for Guam.
Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense are urging all residents as they prepare for their Thanksgiving celebration to also take the time to stock your Emergency Supply Kit, update your Family Disaster Plan and prepare your homes to prevent any unnecessary interruptions during this festive occasion and throughout the holiday season.
