Watts' Agent Billed $450K By Port For Unauthorized August Shipment
Guam - The Board of the Port of Guam has sent a $450-thousand dollar bill to Norton Lilley, the agent for Watts Contractors.
That is on top of the $88-thousand dollar payment that Watts has already made for the unauthorized shipment of their commercial cargo that was loaded at the Guam Shipyard in August.
The shipment violated Guam law which requires all commercial sea cargo to come and go from the Port of Guam.
The Board decided after a full review of the controversial shipment that an additional assessment of $450-thousand was warranted.
This latest billing does not include the amount Watts and its agent will have to pay on the rest of its cargo of concrete poles and blocks.
That remaining cargo has been loaded this past week at the Guam Shipyard, under strict Port supervision this time.
When its all over, the total amount Watts and its Agent will have to pay to the Port for the two shipments out of the Guam Shipyard will be in excess of one-million dollars. That does not include the separate, and undisclosed fees that Watts has paid Guam Shipyard for its services.
