Coast Guard Rescues 5 Divers Off Saipan Friday

Guam - U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam’s Command Center and a helicopter crew from U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Five (HSC-25) worked together to rescue 5 divers off of the southern tip of Saipan Friday.

Sector Guam’s Command Center was notified of the missing divers at approximately 12:45 pm by Saipan’s Emergency Management Office and approximately two hours later, all of the divers had been hoisted on-board an MH-60 S helicopter from HSC-25 and were on their way to shore.

All appeared in good condition and none required medical attention.

Coast Guard Sector Guam is investigating the cause of this incident.
