Public Health To Conduct H1N1 Mass Vaccination POD
Guam- The Department of Public Health and Social Services will conduct the first H1N1 Influenza Mass Vaccination Point of Dispensing (POD) for all target groups identified by the Guam Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Planning Committee (VAPPC) with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practice (CDC). The POD will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or while supplies last.
The target groups include:
· All pregnant women – Doctor’s certification or proof of pregnancy required
· People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
· Persons between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old, to include school-age children
· People 25 through 64 years of age who are at higher risk for novel H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems – Doctor’s certification or proof of medical condition required
· Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel – Employee ID required
All individuals are requested to bring a valid photo ID and immunization record, if available.We continue to ask members of the public who want to receive this vaccine to be patient as this program expands and more 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine becomes available. There will be enough vaccine available for anyone who wishes to receive it.
