Kids of Guam Guardmembers to Clean-Up Agana Beach Area

Guam News - Community Events

Guam - Children of Guam National Guard Soldiers and Airmen will be cleaning the beach area in Agana from the wastewater treatment plant to Adelup tomorrow, Tuesday, July 26.
The children are attending the Guam Guard’s 7th Annual Camp Freedom and the clean-up project is part of their “Going Green” theme, according to camp officials.

The children will be picking up trash along the beach from 10 a.m. through 11.30 a.m.

Motorists are requested to slow down and exercise extreme caution as they travel through this portion of Route 1, especially when they see children present near the road.

The Counterdrug Program, working together with the Family Programs Office of the Guam National Guard, conducted the first Camp Freedom as a venue to bring kids together who shared the tough experiences of having a parent deployed to combat, and as a way for the children to interact and network with one another.

The camp also provides an interactive learning environment full of team building activities, field trips and other educational experiences.

Camp Freedom runs for two weeks.
