“We are currently seeking Chamorro-speaking individuals of all ages to work in I Sengsong Chamorro located at Lina’ La Chamorro Cultural Park”, said project manager, Ernie Galito. “Villagers will live a daily recreation of pre-contact ancient Chamorro life on Guam, prior to the year 1521. This will include varied activities that would have been performed prior to the Spanish arrival on Guam. All roles of villagers/clan members will be cast, from Maga'lahi to common (Manachang) villagers”, Galito added. Interested and qualified candidates should be physically fit, fluent in Chamorro language, and very interested in the preservation of ancient Chamorro culture. A background and knowledge of ancient Chamorro history is preferred but not necessary. Training and workshops will be provided for all new hires.
Other positions available are park managers, ticket takers, retail clerks, and tour guides. The first phase of the park is slated to open later this year according Galito.
