Continental Appoints Miller Managing Director Asia-Pacific
Guam - Continental Airlines has announced that effective immediately it has restructured and reinforced its sales and marketing division for the Asia-Pacific region,which includes Japan, in conjunction with Continental's new membership into Star Alliance.
The organizational restructuring efforts include the appointment of Matt Miller as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, who previously served at the airline's Houston headquarters as Managing Director, International Pricing & Revenue Management.
Based in Tokyo, Miller is now responsible for overseeing Continental's sales,marketing, pricing and revenue management throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Guam, Honolulu, Japan, mainland China and Hong Kong.
Toru Takahashi, currently Director, Japan Sales & Marketing, was appointed Senior Director, Japan Sales & Marketing.
Takahashi's responsibilities, which include overseeing the sales operations in the Tokyo and Osaka areas, charter flights and marketing, were expanded to include Japan-wide sales, encompassing the seven cities currently served by Continental outside of the Tokyo area (Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata, Nagoya, Okayama, Hiroshima and Fukuoka).
In addition, Mitsunori Takahashi, currently Senior Manager, Japan, responsible for the sales department covering the seven cities (outside Tokyo), will remain in charge of the region, and report directly to the Senior Director, Japan Sales & Marketing, Toru Takahashi.
In addition to Toru Takahashi, Walter Dias, Managing Director for Greater China and Southeast Asia, and David Kendell, Director - sales and marketing for Guam and Micronesia, will report directly to Matt Miller.
