Guam- Guam Firefighters turned out in force at the legislature Thursday morning in an effort to convince lawmakers to change their minds and vote to confirm John Salas as Chief of the Guam Fire Department. However, Public Safety Committee Chair Senator Adolpho Palacios told PNC that Salas should be the one to convince them he's the man for the job.

Palacios adds senators will be working into the night and tomorrow to finish the session agenda. However, he also points out that his letter to Governor Eddie Calvo yesterday states that even if Salas's appointment expires on April 4, the Governor can resubmit the appointment for reconsideration by lawmakers.
