Congresswoman Bordallo: Sadness for Japan & Prayers for Pacific in Tsunami's Wake

Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo expressed sadness at the loss of life in Japan following Friday's devastating tsunami that struck Japan and she offered prayers for the safety of pacific islanders in the eye of the a pacific wide tsunami.

The Congresswoman's statemnt is printed below:

“I am saddened to learn of the devastation and loss of life caused by the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. The Japanese are one of our closest allies, and I know the United States stands ready to assist Japan in this time of need.  I offer my condolences to the Japanese people, especially to the families and loved ones of those who have died, as they cope with the aftermath of these events.  I also pray for the safety of our island and our Pacific neighbors as we remain on a tsunami watch.  I will be in close communication with federal officials throughout the day as events unfold and the clean-up process begins.”
