The GMHVA also has presented the GMHA Medical Laboratory with new a laboratory refrigerator and laboratory freezer, together valued at about $16,000. The pieces of equipment are designed for laboratories and continuously monitor and record temperatures. Funds for these pieces of equipment were raised by the GMHVA in 2009.
The new cystoscope/resectoscope set will be used to augment and replace the Hospital’s existing equipment. At the donation presentation, GMHA urologist Dr. Conrad Sheff thanked the Volunteers for the donation.
“The Volunteers are invaluable to the hospital,” Sheff said. “This is an important piece of capital equipment that you could not practice all aspects of urology without.”
Through sales at the Hospital Gift Shop and fund-raisers such as the annual Charity Ball, the GMH Volunteers Association has raised more than $5 million for equipment and supplies at the Hospital in its 45-year history.
